My name is Sara Mullins. I’m 21 years old and currently a Dramatic Writing student at Savannah College of Art and Design specializing in screenwriting for television. My life goals include becoming a television screenwriter, taking over Joss Whedon’s life, and conquering the world though not necessarily in that order. I spent my formative years in Lexington, Kentucky attending SCAPA (School for the Creative and Performing Arts) as a visual arts major. Sometime during my first quarter at SCAD I decided “To Hell with 9 years of artistic training! Let’s be a screenwriter!” And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.
I still enjoy art and everything that goes with it, though I’ve come to discover writing as my one true passion (otp <3). Humor is my bedfellow, though I often consort with Drama behind Humor’s back. Since discovering screenwriting I haven’t been able to imagine myself doing anything else with my life and I spend virtually every waking moment writing (perhaps not every waking moment; you do have to break for food and showers and the like, otherwise I suppose you’re not very likable).
Some of my more ambitious goals include created Percy Jackson: The Animated Series, Potter: the HBO reboot of the Harry Potter series, plus a dozen or so original series, films, and web series that all include at least one properly sarcastic character meant to steal your souls when you least expect it. Primarily, however, I want to work in television. I like exploring both drama and comedy though if I can fuse both in any way I’m all the happier. I’m also a HUGE fan of animation and children’s programming (probably because I’m a perpetual 12 year old).
